How far back does the test work correctly? 2 weeks or longer?

I applied and worked for 4 distinguishable companies, one did blood tests, the others did urine testing. I am a volunteer at a fire branch. We are looking to start random drug screening. We would like to get more information about it, but are not having good fortune finding volunteer organizations who do drug screening.
Answer: I am a volunteer at a fire dept too and we're required to take annual physicals. When I signed up, I was told that even though we are not being paid, it is still considered trade. We even get worker's compensation. So in every aspect, we are unpaid employees of the local fire dept. Legally, I don't discern if random drug testing could be allowed. It could be made a condition of employment and in our case, a adapt of volunteering.
